Farm North Cowichan Pt3
North Cowichan has a multitude of great little farms that grow and raise pretty much everything. Cattle seen in the foreground here.
Avalon has a hundred or so acres of a scenic Eventing Course which draws a bit of a crowd.
Vineyards are up and coming all over the Island and North Cowichan is an exceptional area with some award winning vineyards and wine.
View across Valley to Mt Prevost with Equestrian Farm, Sheep, Cattle and Apple orchard in between. Apple trees can barely be seen as the hill rolls up and down.
Rolling Fence Lines make for some interesting photographic lines in the background Sports stadium lights can be seen just left off center under Richards Mtn.
It is a pretty comfortable area to enjoy life.
I was at a Horse Show at Avalon over this last weekend, a nice Equestrian Ctr that does some really good shows.

North Cowichan pt2
North Cowichan is a great Rural area that is only 10 to 15 minutes from Duncan BC. Surrounded by great Mountainous forests. View from my roof.
To work for many from this natural but shrinking resource.
Our great Firs that seem to stroke the sky
Providing habitat for many of the wildlife that live here, which I will get into later
And some great stand alone photo ops.

North Cowichan pt 1
My blog on the area around me in and around Vancouver Island. Will add in some of the flora and fauna as I go as well as some of the scenics.
Starting with a few views of North Cowichan BC and will work my way around.
Quamichan Lake.
A sunrise coming up between Saltspring Island and Maple Bay
Another view East pulled back on another day and Saltspring Island can be seen just poking up on the bottom left as a pale blue strip just back of the fog shrouded darker tree covered land.
